The town of St. Michaels, MD hosted a celebration honoring the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 ’s Battle of St. Michaels. The event on Saturday, August 10, included re-enactments and cannon firings, a parade, boat rides, children’s activities, live music, food, and a lantern-lighting ceremony celebrating the legendary “Town that Fooled the British.” The weekend celebration continued on Sunday, August 11, with the Talbot County Watermen’s Association’s Watermen’s Appreciation Day, at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, and included a crab feast, live music, celebrity appearances, and a boat docking contest,
