Race Day Soiree - Mount Nittany Medical Center & Centre County American Cancer Society
Though the Belmont Stakes is held in New York, locals who don’t feel like traveling could still get in on a piece of the action, all while contributing to a good cause.
Race Day Soiree, a new event benefiting Centre County’s chapter of the American Cancer Society, chaired by Mimi Barash Coppersmith, Linette Courtney, Michele Sebastianelli and Nancy Silvis, was held Saturday June 11th on the back lawn of Blake and Linda Gall’s home in Boalsburg.
The outdoor event featured food catered by Dan Rallis, live jazz from Andrew Jackson and the Back Ali Jazz Band, thoroughbred video horse racing, and, of course, a viewing of the big race.
“Funds raised through Race Day Soiree will help the American Cancer Society provide support to Centre County residents, as well as fund our life-saving research program that has lead to most of today’s advancements in cancer treatment and prevention,” said Nathan Leopard, Distinguished Giving Director of the American Cancer Society’s East Central Division.
